Fête de Fin de l'Année

We just got back from the Fête de Fin de l'Année. We had a lot of fun at the Paris Casino here in Vegas. We ate at the Village Buffet and several of the students tried several new dishes, like duck à l'orange, Ratatouille and Crème Brulé. We also had the hugest Crêpes you could ever imagine!
After that we took an elevator up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and took some fun pix. Notice Iulian's smartphone on the outside of the railing!
It was a good trip.

wrap up

This is the view from my desk as the French club wrapped up the year with a planning and finalization of the Fête de Fin de l'Année.
We will meet at the Paris Casino on the strip to eat at the great French Food buffet. It will be fun as we toast the graduates and enjoy the cultural experience.
Notice the final exam on my screen. If only the students realized what I was working on!

Cheese day 3

We had a rather serious meeting this week. It seems that the president who was elected earlier this school year was unable to continue her duties. So, with a simple majority vote, following the club charter, we authorized the first Vice-president to take on the role of President.
We also had a third cheese-day. Brie and Muenster and several other cheeses were brought. Most enjoyed them, but you know American palates are not used to such things!

Mardi Gras (two weeks early)

Since Mardi Gras will take place in the middle of Proficiency Exam week, we decided to celebrate Mardi Gras early. Mrs. Hill, the wife of the club adviser, made two king cakes. Leona got one of the babies, but the other cake wasn't all eaten so we don't know who will be the king for the day yet!
There weren't very many people there, because we had the meeting on a Tuesday rather than a Monday! But, C'est la vie!
